Suntrust QuickBooks Import

You are here

1) Download the SunTrust file for the dates you want in .qif format

2) Open the downloaded file, Bank2IIF will open with the file information pre-loaded, click Open

3) Your transactions should load, at the bottom right of the window click Save and save the file to a name you can identify later (Acct, Date, etc)

4) Open QuickBooks, ensure you rename any previously imported account labeled 10000001 to something identifiable. ***IF YOU DO NOT DO THIS ALL OF THE TRANSACTIONS WILL MERGE***

5) ONLY AFTER ENSURING ALL PREVIOUSLY IMPORTS ARE RENAMED Click File -> Utilities -> Import -> IIF

6) Navigate to the file you just created and import. There will likely be transactions with a check number of zero which QuickBooks will ask you to rename, hold the Enter key on the keyboard until the Import is complete to dismiss these until later.

7) Your transactions will be loaded in to an account called 10000001, rename this account to the date the imported data corresponds to which you will empty as you reclassify transactions in to accounts, and then eventually delete.
